Cartilage: Invertebral disc
Look at the eMicroscope on the left to examine a section of fibrocartilage.
Identify the fibrocartilage present in the ‘capsule’ of the invertebral disc that lies between them, and make sure you can distinguish it from the hyaline cartilage also present in the section.
Question: Where else is fibrocartilage found?
Question: How can fibrocartilage be distinguished from dense regular connective tissue? (hint – what do chondrocytes sit in?)
